It's been 5 months, and my almost 7 year old son is still in love with our new Halex fusion electronic dart board!
On a rainy day, he's in the basement with the soft tip darts only (of course), playing for up to 30 minutes, jumping for joy when the board says "bullseye!"
I will never regret my purchase.

You Call Yourself a Darts Player?
Well, my 6 year old son has been loving our new Halex electronic dart board with soft tip or steel tip technology in my posts below. He uses the soft tips, and I use the steel tips.
It's been cracking him up when the board heckles him in real human recordings: "you call yourself a darts player?"
Photos coming-- it was a very busy summer getting the basement painted before we even hung the dart board!

Halex Fusion Electronic Dart Board Just Arrived!
Can't wait to break open and set up my new electronic dart board that just arrived via Fed-ex. I bought it through Dart Boards and Games, this blog's sponsor.
Coming soon: Photos and tutorials on how to hang a dart board. Then I'll be posting some videos on my dart game skills as I learn the many types of their 28 dart games the board offers. It will no doubt be shouting out at me with it's electronic sound effects "ya call yourself a dart player???"

2008 Professional Darts Corporation Calendar of US & International Dart Tournaments
Here's the link for the 2008 PDC Dart Tournaments Calendar.
Now, for those of you who don't know how much money can be won by playing darts professionally, take Darin Young from Pennsylvania, who just won $15,000 at Mohegan Sun in CT. on May 17, 2008. The runner up got $5K, and many others received $1K, and $500 -- that made it to the quarter and semi-finals. Not bad, eh?
This may be reason enough to buy your dart board and start practicing -- and even if you don't enter into a pro tourney, you will have fun. That's the name of the game.

New electronic dart board - just bought my first Halex

So excited to get my new Halex Fusion Electronic Dart Board Package! Get this: the dart board accepts soft tip and steel tips darts...how cool is that???
I just ordered it through dartboardsandgames.com, and used the coupon code posted on the top right corner of their site, and got $10 off. And only $2.99 shipping. Nice.
I chose this one because I have a 6 year old son, and he needs soft tip darts for safety, but I like steel tip darts. Sooooo....this board accepts both types of darts, hence the name "fusion". Apparently, it uses a revolutionary space age material, which I had no idea existed, so we'll see how it works when it arrives. Of course, I'll be locking up the steel tip darts away from the dart board when I'm not playing, so my son doesn't accidentally pick up the wrong tips.
More to come - I'll be videotaping my experiences hanging the dart board, and showing off my new skills as I try out some of the 28 dart games programmed in.
